I am a mathematician and an educator who creates genuine mathematical experiences for students regardless of their prior experiences. I have worked with students at a large American state school and a private liberal arts university in India, groups of adults interested in rediscovering math, middle and high school students, and groups of teachers. In 2014 I created the math program at the newly-founded Ashoka University in India, along with general education courses in mathematical thinking at undergraduate and graduate levels.

My work in mathematics is in descriptive set theory, which is a part of mathematical logic. I got my PhD under Slawomir Solecki at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010.
